RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Iteratively analyze user and business requirements to inform and determine design decisions;
  • Design wireframes, mock-ups and prototypes for the Geo.ca web presence;
  • Design user interfaces for web applications that include the use of interactive form elements;
  • Design WordPress theme mock-ups for GEO.ca according to specifications;
  • Produce detailed Work Plan for UX (site design, community pages design, graphic design, etc.);
  • Design multi-lingual user interfaces for web applications following Treasury Board Web Standards, Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2) and Web Experience Toolkit (WET);
  • Design and enhance web application interfaces in support of transactional, forms-based, multi-step business processes;
  • Create accessible front-end web interfaces using standards-based technologies such as HTML CSS, JavaScript, and various related frameworks;
  • Iteratively optimize the usability of both custom-made design assets, and third-party framework interfaces;
  • Assess the impact of the new requirements on existing web applications;
  • Develop test plans for evaluating the effectiveness of web and application interfaces;
  • Develop post-implementation plan for monitoring/tracking design stability.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • 10+ years of experience working as a Web Designer;
  • 3+ years of recent experience:
  1. providing services as a Web Designer on website presence development projects to clients;
  2. in UX design and applying web-based designs that maximize latest web technology and user-friendly functionality;
  3. designing websites with multilingual WordPress themes;
  • 5+ recent projects creating wireframes and prototypes in support of UX/UI design;
  • 3+ recent projects:
  1. front-end development for interactive web applications accessible HTML, CSS, and JavaScript;
  2. developing user-interfaces and navigation for websites and web applications;
  3. creating UX deliverables that include all of the following: functional specifications, design systems, site maps, user journeys, flows, personas, wireframes, and prototypes;
  4. UX redesigns for existing websites and web applications;
  • 2+ years of recent experience designing websites following, Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2);
  • Fluent English.
