RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop high-level functional and technical specifications through the use of business process maps, Use Cases, requirements gathering sessions and documented outcome, business workflow and organizational models, and/or solution prototypes;
  • Produce and articulate complex project objectives, data and information in a digestible format for internal and external stakeholders;
  • Development of Business Cases, Opportunity Assessments and Client profiles;
  • Develop and document statements of requirements for considered alternatives;
  • Document help text, user manuals, technical documentation, web page content, etc.;
  • Review documentation standards and the existing project documentation;
  • Perform business analyses of functional requirements to identify information, procedures, and decision flows;
  • Evaluate existing procedures and methods, identify and document items such as database content, structure, application subsystems;
  • Define and document interfaces of manual to automated operations within application subsystems, to external systems, and between new and existing systems;
  • Establish acceptance test criteria with client;
  • Support and use the selected departmental methodologies.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • 10+ years of experience working as a Business Analyst;
  • A degree from a recognized university in the Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering fields;
  • 5+ years of experience planning, researching, and preparing technical documentation within an IT environment such as Statement of Requirements, System Specifications, User Manuals/Guides, and Online technical help content;
  • 4+ recent projects performing the following tasks, within a cloud environment:
  1. Providing advice and guidance to management;
  2. Analyzing and defining requirements;
  3. Determining impacts on systems;
  4. Providing recommendations;
  • 3+ recent projects:
  1. providing services as a Business Analyst on website presence development projects to clients;
  2. analyzing and making recommendations on business improvement processes and IM/IT solutions within a client organization with 100 employees or more;
  3. developing and documenting statements of requirements for solutions, where open-source technologies were implemented as part of the solution (one of the projects must be for a Geomatics project);
  4. writing and maintaining technical or business-related documentation within an IT environment;
  5. developing, updating and facilitating the gathering of functional specifications;
  • 2+ years of recent experience liaising with client(s) through a product’s implementation life cycle and/or Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) ensuring the solution aligns with requirements;
  • Fluent English.
