A Public Sector client requires the help of one Senior Project Leader to provide industry perspective and business acumen in the development of sustainment business cases for managing and sustaining Military Equipment. The Contractor resource will be working as a member of the Centre of Expertise (CoE), Land Team (“L-Team”), under the Sustainment Initiative (SI) co-chaired by the Chief of Staff (COS) Materiel (Mat) for the client and the environmental Director General
Mandatory requirements
- Undergraduate degree or higher from a recognized post-secondary institution in a minimum of one
of the following:
1. Business Administration;
2. Economics;
3. Engineering; or
4. Supply Chain Management - Minimum of ninety-six (96) months of combined experience in the last one-hundred and eighty (180) months in management of
material and engineering / technical services in a minimum of one (1) of the following:
Strategic business analysis – planning for supply chain including outsourcing
Business venture risk management
Complex contracting (i.e relational contracting, alliances, strategic partnerships);
Performance-based contracting
Performance-based Logistics and/or
Business transformational change / Re-alignment - Minimum of thirty (36) months of combined experience within the last ninety-six (96) months performing Business Planning in a minimum of one (1) of the following:
Canadian Military Markets; and/or
International Military Markets - Minimum of sixty (60) months of experience* in the last one-hundred and eighty (180) months in a key decision position (e.g. director) for material and engineering / technical services.
*This experience must be in the context of material and engineering / technical services
General Tasks
Tasks in support of The Sustainment Business Case Analysis under the Material Sustainment Program. These tasks may include, but are not limited to:
- Develop and maintain the Military baseline (enterprise) SBCA;
- Employ the SI SBCA process, using the enterprise SBCA as support. Develop and employ associated continuous learning and improvement processes. Develop tools (e.g. templates and databases) in support of these processes;
- Participate in stakeholder engagement strategy and plan development.
- Develop communications products (e.g. presentations) pertaining to SBCA development.
- Give presentations at stakeholder events;
- Develop competency requirements, strategy and plan for practitioners and other key stakeholders;
- Develop the SBCA knowledge base. Develop professional development products;
- Review and provide recommendations on specific land materiel SBCAs and sustainment strategies;
- Review and provide recommendations on SBCAs for materiel other than land.
- Provide business acumen and advice regarding industry experience, and lessons learned;
- Provide SBCA expertise advice and coaching support to practitioners;
- Provide SBCA expertise advice and coaching to senior executives;
- Report on risks and issues to sustainment;
- Monitor and report on evolving sustainment practices, their significance, and potential impact;
- Participate in meetings when required by the Technical Authority (TA), and provide input, opinions, recommendations, information and data as required;
- As required, develop, prepare and deliver briefings;
- Other activities and tasks in support of the scope described in the section entitled “Requirement” herein.
